Installing in Compatibility Mode (with FileSite or DeskSite 9.3.4 or Later)

You can install your compatibility mode setup using one of the following options:

Using iManage Auto Updates

iManage recommends that you install iManage Work clients using the iManage Auto Updates feature as this option installs additional components that offer you the benefit of staying up-to-date with the latest features, enhancement, and/or bug fixes that are periodically released by iManage. Updates are seamlessly installed on your desktop without uninstalling existing application(s). For installation instructions, see Using Auto Updates.

NOTE:

Before starting the installation process, ensure that you configure the Auto Updates installation such that it includes both iManage classic clients and iManage Work Desktop for Windows. For information on configuring the Auto Updates installation, see Configuring the Auto Updates Installation.

Using individual installers

To install iManage Work Desktop for Windows 10.2.6 with FileSite or DeskSite 9.3.4 or later, run a silent install of the FileSite or DeskSite 9.3.4 or later client, and then install iManage Work Desktop for Windows 10.2.6. Ensure that iManage Agent Services 10.2.6 is installed before installing iManage Work Desktop for Windows 10.2.6.

NOTE:

If iManage Work Desktop for Windows is installed with FileSite or DeskSite:

  • The connection to iManage Work Server using REST is hidden by classic login iCommand. For third-party applications that call classic iCommands and middleware, for example, iManage.dll, APIs continue to work.

  • Classic Office integration is disabled. Third-party Office add-ins or macros that interact with classic iManage Office integration object model will stop working.

iManage Work Desktop for Windows Office integration supports third party integration in a different way. For more information, refer to iManage Work Desktop for Windows SDK documentation.
