As an Insight+ user, you'll benefit from pre-configured default filters and filter values set by your organization administrators for sub-landing pages. These filters will only be visible if your organization’s administrator has configured user profiles with default filters.
Upon your first sign-in, you'll need to select a user profile for your landing page, depending on the admin's configuration. If default filters have been set for the search experiences and the Landing pages, you may be required to select two profiles. If they have only been configured for one or the other, or the profiles for both search experiences and Landing pages are the same, you'll only be required to select one profile.
If no Admin default filters are set, then you won't be prompted to select a profile.
Key points to remember
The Landing page filter experience is layered. Admins enable filtering for users by filter type, for example, Knowledge Type, Sector, and Jurisdiction, when they set up the sub-landing pages. For more information, refer to filters set for sub-landing pages.
Users can select values and apply them to those filters. In addition, admins can set default filters together with their values, for more information, refer to filters set for the Landing pages.
For example—for user profile London, the Admin default filters are Jurisdiction, Eng & Wales and Office, London, whereas the filters set for sub-landing pages are Knowledge Type, Sector, and Jurisdiction. Then, in this case, displayed on the sub-landing pages, you'll see: Jurisdiction - Eng & Wales; Office - London; Knowledge type (pill only, no value) and Sector (pill only, no value).
You can choose to add and/or remove filters, and also save them as your personal default filters for sub-landing pages. When you select Show all on the main landing page, you'll be directed to the specific search interface configured by the administrator. On this search experience interface, all Admin-set default filters applicable for that locator will be displayed, if they’ve been configured by your organization's administrator.
If you select Show all from your sub-landing pages, you'll be directed through to the Knowledge locator together with any filters (default or otherwise) that have been applied on the sub-landing pages. To reset the filters back to the Knowledge locator defaults, select Reset filters.
Beyond the default filters applied for your User profile, admins can also configure specific custom messages and quick links for your profiles on the Sub-landing pages. These will provide you with updates and quick access to data that is more relevant to your profile. For example, a custom message for a Litigation user profile can be “Trial prep for Smith vs Jones starts Monday” with quick links pointing to the case docket, repository, and court calendar.
Display rules for custom messages and quick links on Sub-landing page:
If a global custom message (applicable at node level) or a global quick link (applicable to all nodes) exists, and no customized message or links are assigned, then the global message and links will be displayed.
If a specific custom message or quick link has been configured for a User profile, it takes precedence and is displayed.
If no custom message or quick link is configured for the user profiles on Sub-landing pages, then no messages or links are displayed.
If the user decides to change the user profile, they'll see the custom message and quick links for the new User profile selected, if they’ve been configured.
Managing default filters
For more information on admin default filters and the various options available, refer to the following sections. This will provide you with detailed insights into managing filters and improving your search experience.
Default filter types
Admin default filters: These are pre-configured filters set by your organization's administrators, applicable to your user profile.
Personal user default filters: These are filters that you as a user select and save as your own personal default settings, tailored to your individual preferences.
Making changes to your default filters
You can add or remove default filters and values either temporarily for a particular search, or permanently by saving the changes to your default filters.
To make temporary changes, select the drop-down in the filter value in the filter bar and select Clear all to remove a filter, or add additional filter values and then select Apply or use the Advanced search form. When you have finished your search, select Reset filters and it'll return you to your default filter view.
NOTE: If your administrators have set default filters, you can set and save your own selection of default filters. This lets you customize your default search and browse view based on your needs.
If you'd like to save the changes that you have made to your default filters:
In the center panel, next to the applied filters, select the context menu icon and then select Save as my default filters.
You can use the same action to save any selected filters as your defaults, regardless of whether any admin defaults have been applied to you. After they’re set, these defaults will apply to the search experience in which you have set them.
Delete personal user default filters
In addition to saving personal default filters, you also have the flexibility to delete personal default filters and create new ones.
NOTE: The option to delete your personal default filters is displayed only if you have previously saved personal default filters and there are no administrator default filters applicable to your user profile.
To delete personal default filter settings:
Select the icon and then select Delete my default filters.
Once you've deleted your personal default filters, you can set new preferred filters and save them as your personal default. This lets you easily update your default settings to your needs.
Reset to admin default filters
After saving your personal default filters, the option Reset to admin filters gets enabled only if your administrator has set Admin default filters.
NOTE: Resetting to Admin default filters will remove all custom default settings, if you have saved any.
Select the icon and then select Reset to admin filters.
NOTES:
When both Admin default filters and saved personal default filters are available, selecting Reset filters option will apply your personal default filters.
If no personal default filters are saved, selecting Reset filters option will revert to admin default filters.
If you want to revert to Admin default filters, you must select Reset to admin filters.
Default filters updated by the administrator
When you have your personal default filters saved, and the administrator updates the default filter settings for your user profile, then a notification is displayed showing that the administrator has updated the default filters.
Select the icon to remove the notification.
To apply the updates, select the icon and then select Reset to admin filters.

NOTES:
After you select your default user profile, all Admin set default filters for that profile will be applied for the search experience you're in.
Your saved personal default filters remain unchanged until you select Reset filters.
Handling a no-search results scenario
When multiple filters are applied, the search criteria can become too specific, resulting in no search results being displayed.
In such scenarios, you have two options to select from to refine your search:
Option 1
Select Clear Filters option to remove all applied filters and then apply new filters for a fresh search.
To avoid this happening again, you should then save your reduced filter option as your personal default, and also notify your administrator that you aren't able to view any results with the applied default filters.
Option 2
Select Clear All option from the filter(s) drop-down to remove a particular filter and then start a new search.
To prevent the same thing from happening again, you should consider what personal default filters you should save, and also notify your administrator that you aren't able to view any results with the applied default filters.
