1. Start Application Designer. By default, Forms Designer opens.

  2. Expand the required component node, and then select the required form. The form opens in Forms Designer.

  3. Locate the appropriate control, based on the type of the metadata property. For example, to add a date metadata property to a new or edit form, use the NullableDatePicker control. To select metadata values from a picker, add the Criteria Picker control.

  1. Drag the selected control to Forms Designer and drop it to the desired location in the form. You may need to resize the form or reposition existing controls to fit the new control.
The Properties pane on the right side shows the properties for the selected control. If none of the controls are selected, the properties for the entire form are shown.

  2. Define the properties for this control. To display or update data, the Role property must be set to Value, and the Profile property to a property schema name.

  3. All profiles that can be associated with the control can be selected by opening the Assign a schema value dialog with the ellipsis button on the Profile property.
For example, the Location object corresponds to the Edit Location, New Location, and Search Location forms. The Profile property for all the controls in these forms displays the available profiles associated with the Location object. So, the Profile property for a selected control displays profiles such as Description, Location type, Name, and so on.

  4. Save the changes and publish to the server. For more information about publishing forms, refer to Publishing Changes.

For the complete list of controls with descriptions, refer to Available Controls.
