Install Application Designer before proceeding with the following steps. For installation instructions, refer to iManage Records Manager Administration Guide.

  1. Start iManage Records Manager Application Designer.

  2. For Username and Password:

    • If you're using iManage Records Manager on-premises, enter the default Application Designer account and password, tooluser/TOOLUSER, or the username and password combination for any user in Tooluser Group.

    • If you're using iManage Records Manager Service in the Cloud, enter the admin password provided to you by iManage, or the username and password combination for any user in Tooluser Group.

  3. For Cluster Name:

    • If you're using iManage Records Manager on-premises, enter the name of the Records Manager cluster.

    • If you're connecting to iManage Records Manager Service in the Cloud, enter the cluster name of the IRM Cloud Service—for example, yourcompanyname-cms.imanage.work.

  4. For Domain, provide the domain profile of the intended IRM account. As domain isn't a required attribute when creating accounts in IRM, the field may be left blank if not relevant. (To assess this, you can observe the account using IRM Library Manager and check the Domain value set.)

  5. Select Login. The Application Designer main window opens. To suppress the Login dialog after successfully connecting to the Records Manager cluster, select the Automatically connect to server on startup option.
The sign-in credentials you entered are automatically sent to the Records Manager cluster. If the sign-in fails, the dialog opens for you to re-enter the information manually.

NOTE: To disable the automatic connection functionality, hold down the Shift key while starting the application.

  1. Select OK.
