When you move a document or email to Trash, it's removed from its folder but kept so you can review, restore, or export it later. Use the Trash page to see everything you've deleted, restore items to their original or a new location, and export the list to a CSV file.
To open Trash, select Trash in the left navigation.
View and filter trashed items
The Trash page lists the items you've moved to Trash. Each item shows its item type, Name, Doc. Number, Version, Deleted Date, Edit Date, Create Date, Author, and File Size.
To narrow the list, use the filters at the top of the page:
From the Library drop-down list, select a library to show only items from that library.
Use the Document Number, File Type, and Deleted Date filters to refine the list further.
Select More to see additional filters.
Restore items
You can return items to iManage Work from Trash.
To restore items:
Select the checkbox next to each item you want to restore. The toolbar shows the number of selected items, for example 3 selected.
Do one of the following:
To return the items to the location they were deleted from, select Restore.
To choose a different location, select Restore to a new location, and then select the destination.
Export the Trash list to CSV
You can export items in Trash to a CSV file—for example, to keep a record of what was deleted or to review it in Microsoft Excel. You can export selected items or the entire list.
To export items to CSV:
Select the checkbox next to each item you want to export. To export every item, select all of the items in the list.
Select the Export to CSV icon on the toolbar. Pointing to the icon shows the number of items to be exported, for example Export 3 items to CSV.
The CSV file downloads to your device. The file name uses a trash_export_ prefix followed by a timestamp—for example, trash_export_2026-08-10T09_44_00.csv.
The exported file contains one row per item, with these columns: Item type, Name, Doc. Number, Version, Deleted Date, Edit Date, Create Date, Author, and File Size.
NOTE: The export includes only the items you select. If you apply a filter and then select all items, only the items shown by that filter are exported.
