This section contains information about the supported platforms, applications, and prerequisites for iManage Drive.

Supported platforms

The iManage Drive application can be installed on Microsoft Windows 10 (version 1709 or later) and Microsoft Windows 11 only.

NOTE:

If you are using a device that is running macOS and then running Microsoft Windows as a parallel setup, you can’t install iManage Drive on the Microsoft Windows that is set up in parallel. We recommend that you install iManage Drive for Mac in these circumstances.

Hardware recommendations

The minimum memory, CPU, and disk space requirements depend on ‌usage. However, the recommended hardware configuration for iManage Drive and iManage Work Desktop for Windows is:

  • RAM: 16 gb

  • CPU: 2.0-GHz processor with 2 cores

  • Disk space: 100 gb, depending on usage

    • iManage Drive requires 1 gb for installation and an additional minimum of 2 gb free for sync capabilities.

    • iManage Work Desktop for Windows requires 2 gb for installation, plus additional storage for editing documents.

NOTE:

The above-mentioned hardware recommendations are only for iManage Drive and iManage Work Desktop for Windows. If you have additional applications or add-ins installed, you may have to adjust the device’s hardware accordingly.

Prerequisites

  • iManage Drive requires On-Premises iManage Work Server 10.3.1 or later.

NOTE:

  • For efficient handling and syncing of content, we recommend that each workspace must contain no more than 10,000 folders.

  • iManage Drive can still connect to iManage Work Server 10.2.0.151 or later, but the container download feature and Security Policy Manager features aren't available. On-premises Work Server versions 10.2.0.151 – 10.2.0.175 require a security patch update. Refer to CRITICAL ADVISORY: Update required to address iManage Work Server security vulnerability.

  • One on-premises iManage Work Server is recommended for every 500 iManage Drive users. This is a general recommendation and the following variables may reduce or increase the number of servers required:

    • iManage Drive users that are simultaneously active.

    • If your organization has an existing server setup, the existing servers can be reused if they aren't heavily loaded.

    • The frequency of document changes in the workspaces being synced by iManage Drive.

    • The average number of documents each user will sync at any given time.

    • There are no browser prerequisites for iManage Drive 10.11.0.

  • iManage Work Desktop for Windows is also installed when users install iManage Drive using the iManage Drive for Windows Auto Update Installer. If already installed, it's updated to the latest version.

NOTE:

Make sure that you review the prerequisites for iManage Work Desktop for Windows before starting the installation of iManage Drive using the iManage Drive for Windows Auto Update Installer. For more information, refer to the latest iManage Work Desktop for Windows Installation Guide available in iManage Help Center.

  • If using Adobe Acrobat Reader, Adobe Acrobat DC Pro, and Adobe Acrobat Standard when working with PDF files, make sure that the Enable Protected Mode at startup (Preview) option is unselected and Protected View is set to Off under Edit > Preferences > Security (Enhanced).
