The iManage Work Desktop for Windows cleanup tool is used to remove, repair, or uninstall previous versions of the software. It's available in versions 10.9.0 or later. The cleanup tool runs daily automatically by default and removes any older versions of iManage Work Desktop for Windows that are no longer in use. When using the cleanup tool, make sure it is run in an elevated command prompt and from a user login script.
The cleanup tool is intended for use by administrators who deploy the software using enterprise software deployment tools. For administrators who deploy the software using iManage Auto Updates, the iManage Auto Update client invokes the cleanup tool as needed, and there's no further action required.
When an update is applied to iManage Work Desktop for Windows, the cleanup tool only removes prior versions of the iManage Work Desktop for Windows after users have closed any previously running instances of Microsoft Office or Adobe Acrobat applications, and those versions are no longer needed.
If you deploy iManage Work Desktop for Windows using enterprise software deployment tools, you have to either:
Use the command line option to perform a silent uninstall to remove previous product versions before installing new versions of iManage Work Desktop for Windows, or
Install the latest version and then run the cleanup tool from the user’s login script. The cleanup tool will remove any prior versions of iManage Work Desktop for Windows that are no longer in use.
Run the following command to remove any previous builds of iManage Work Desktop for Windows in an elevated command prompt: "C:\ProgramData\iManage\Work\iManageWorkDesktopForWindows\iManageWorkDesktopforWindows.exe" /cleanup
Additionally, you can use the cleanup tool to automatically uninstall or repair iManage Work Desktop for Windows. Run the following commands in an elevated command prompt to silently uninstall or repair iManage Work Desktop for Windows:
Uninstall: “C:\ProgramData\iManage\Work\iManageWorkDesktopForWindows\iManageWorkDesktopforWindows.exe” /uninstall /quiet
Repair: “C:\ProgramData\iManage\Work\iManageWorkDesktopForWindows\iManageWorkDesktopforWindows.exe” /repair /quiet
NOTE:
The clean-up tool doesn't remove the older versions of iManage DeskSite and iManage FileSite, if any, which are still available on the user's machine. In these circumstances, refer to the Uninstalling DeskSite section in iManage DeskSite Installation Guide and the Uninstalling FileSite section in iManage FileSite Installation guide to uninstall iManage DeskSite and iManage FileSite respectively.
