From version 10.4.0 onwards, Microsoft SQL Server Compact Edition (CE) 4.0 is no longer a prerequisite when you install iManage Work Desktop for Windows. iManage Work Desktop for Windows now uses SQLite instead that is integrated with it. When you are installing iManage Work Desktop for Windows 10.4.0 or later, iManage Installer no longer prompts you to install Microsoft SQL Server Compact Edition 4.0. The iManage Work library location and name is now changed to:
%appdata%\iManage\Work\SuggestionDb\imanEFSDB3.DB
%appdata%\iManage\Work\WCS\imanWCSDB.DB
When you upgrade to iManage Work Desktop for Windows 10.4.0 or later from either iManage Work Desktop for Windows (10.3.0 or earlier) or iManage Work desktop clients (9.3.6 or later), the migration from Microsoft SQL Server Compact Edition 4.0 to SQLite happens automatically when you open the application for the first time, post the upgrade.
NOTE:
The migration is not compatible with iManage Work desktop clients (9.3.5 or earlier) running on Microsoft SQL Server Compact Edition 3.5. We recommend that you upgrade to iManage Work desktop client 9.3.7 or later.
Migration is a one-time effort and has minimal impact on any of the user-based operations.
NOTE:
Don't uninstall Microsoft SQL Server Compact Edition 4.0 prior to migrating to SQLite. Migration will fail.
All the migration activity is logged into the following location for troubleshooting purposes:
%localappdata%\iManage\Work\Logs\MigrationDB.xxxx.log
