Saving documents to iManage Work

To save documents to iManage Work using the keyboard, do the following:

  1. From the application from which you want to save document, press ALT and then press the shortcut key displayed in the application to navigate to the iManage tab. For example, press Y2 in Microsoft Word or I in Adobe Acrobat Reader DC to access the iManage tab.
    Alternatively, use the RIGHT/LEFT and UP/DOWN arrow keys to access the iManage tab. You can also use TAB to access the iManage tab when working with Microsoft Office applications or Microsoft Visio.

  2. Do one of the following:

    • Press the keyboard shortcut displayed in the application to save a document to iManage Work using iManage Save As. For example, press Y2 in Microsoft Word or press S in Adobe Acrobat Reader DC. You can also use the UP/DOWN and RIGHT/LEFT arrow keys to traverse to the iManage Save As option. Once iManage Save As option is highlighted, press ENTER. You can also press TAB to access the iManage Save As option when working with Microsoft Office applications or Microsoft Visio. The iManage Save As dialog box appears.
      Use the UP/DOWN and RIGHT/LEFT arrow keys to navigate to the folder where you want to save the document. Press ENTER to save the document. Alternatively, navigate in the iManage Save As dialog box until Save is highlighted. Once Save is highlighted, press ENTER to save the document. You can also press TAB to navigate through the iManage Save As dialog box.
      Alternatively, you can also use the backstage view in Microsoft Office applications or Microsoft Visio to open the iManage Save As dialog box by pressing the shortcut key displayed in the File tab and then pressing the shortcut key displayed for iManage Save. For example, press F and then press B in Microsoft Word. The iManage Save As dialog box appears.

    • Press the keyboard shortcut displayed in the application to sync your changes directly to iManage Work using iManage Save and Sync. For example, press SS in Microsoft Word or N in Adobe Acrobat Reader DC to sync you changes to iManage Work. Alternatively, use the UP/DOWN and RIGHt/LEFT arrow keys to navigate to the iManage Save and Sync option. Once it is highlighted, press ENTER. You can also press TAB to access the iManage Save and Sync option when working with Microsoft Office applications or Microsoft Visio. The mouse pointer changes to the 'Saving...' notification to inform that iManage Work Desktop for Windows is saving the latest changes to iManage Work. The document remains open so that you can continue editing.

    • Press the keyboard shortcut displayed in the application to save the document to iManage Work as a new version using iManage Save As New Version. For example, press Y3 in Microsoft Word or W in Adobe Acrobat Reader DC to save the document as a new version. Alternatively, use the UP/DOWN and RIGHT/LEFT arrow keys to navigate to the iManage Save As New Version option. When it is highlighted, press ENTER. You can also press TAB to access iManage Save as New Version option when working with Microsoft Office applications or Microsoft Visio. The iManage New Version dialog box appears.
      Alternatively, use backstage view in Microsoft Office applications or Microsoft Visio to open the iManage New Version dialog box by pressing the shortcut key displayed on the File tab and then pressing the shortcut key displayed for iManage New Version. For example, press F and then press V in Microsoft Word. The iManage New Version dialog box appears.
      Use the UP/DOWN and RIGHT/LEFT arrow keys to navigate to the folder where you want to save the document. Press ENTER to save the document. Alternatively, navigate in the iManage New Version dialog box until Save is highlighted. Once Save is highlighted, press ENTER to save the document as a new version. You can also press TAB to navigate through the iManage New Version dialog box.

    • Press the keyboard shortcut displayed in Microsoft Office or Microsoft Visio to save the document as a PDF to iManage Work using iManage Save as PDF. For example, press Y4 from Microsoft Word to save the document as a PDF file to iManage Work. Alternatively, use the UP/DOWN and RIGHT/LEFT arrow keys or TAB to navigate to the iManage Save as PDF option. When it is highlighted, press ENTER. The iManage Save As PDF Options dialog box appears.
      Use the keyboard shortcuts displayed in the iManage Save As PDF Options dialog box to make your selections. Alternatively, use the TAB, UP/DOWN, and RIGHT/LEFT arrow keys to make your selections. When done, navigate to Save button to save the file. When the Save button is highlighted, press ENTER. The iManage New Version dialog box appears.
      Use the UP/DOWN and RIGHT/LEFT arrow keys to navigate to the folder where you want to save the document. Press ENTER to save the document. Alternatively, navigate in the New Version dialog box until Save is highlighted. Once Save is highlighted, press ENTER to save the document as a PDF to iManage Work. You can also press TAB to navigate through the iManage New Version dialog box.

In addition, on the iManage Save dialog boxes, press ALT+SPACE to arrow key to access the system menu. Use the UP/DOWN arrow keys and ENTER to move, size, maximize, minimize, close, or refresh the dialog boxes.
