Saving non-integrated file types as PDF from Preview app

In addition to the Microsoft Office for Mac and iWork Suite applications integrated with iManage Work Desktop for Mac, other file types that open in Preview app can be saved to iManage. For more information about the file formats that Preview app supports, refer to the documentation available at Apple support site.

NOTE:

For macOS Mojave and macOS Catalina, a system generated message is displayed asking you to give the application access to resources on your Mac when you try accessing the options on the Services menu in Preview app. For more information, refer to the Security configuration section in iManage Work Desktop for Mac Installation Guide 10.2.2.

  1. Open the Finder window and select Applications.

  2. Double-click Preview, navigate to the desired location, and open the file that you want to save to iManage Work.

  3. Select the application name on the Mac menu bar. The menu options are displayed.

  4. Point to Services and select Save as New PDF or Save as New Version PDF. The Save Document dialog box appears.

    NOTE:

To prevent the confusion caused by trying to save a new local document as a version of another document in iManage Work with a similar name, a dialog box is displayed when you try saving a local document as a new version PDF using the Save As New Version PDF options. You are prompted to save the document as a new document or new PDF to iManage Work. Selecting Yes displays the iManage Save Document dialog box and selecting No redirects you to the document without performing any save action.

  5. Navigate to the desired folder in iManage Work and select Save. The file is saved as a PDF to iManage Work.

To open a file in iManage Work using Preview app, select Preview on the Mac menu bar, point to Services and select Open Document from iManage Work.
