What version of macOS is supported for iManage Work Desktop for Mac 10.4.0?
macOS Catalina 10.15.7 or later.

NOTE:

iManage Work Desktop for Mac 10.4.0 supports macOS Catalina 10.15.7, macOS Big Sur 11.6 (Intel-based and Apple M1-based Macs), and macOS Monterey 12.0 Beta 8. iManage recommends that you upgrade to macOS Big Sur 11.6.

What version of MS Office for Mac is supported?
Version 15.35 or later.

NOTE:

The new iManage Work panel requires Microsoft Outlook 16.53 or later.

What version of iWork Suite is supported?
Version 6.3 or later.

What version of iManage Work Server is supported?
Version 10.2.2 or later.

iManage Agent menulet

If I do not see the iManage logo on top/in my Mac menu bar, how do I get it back?
The iManage menulet images/download/thumbnails/129631700/MenuletIcon.png disappears when you select the Quit option on the menulet. For more information about how to enable it again, refer to the Adding the iManage menulet to Mac menu bar section in iManage Work Desktop for Mac User Guide.

iManage Work

How can I sign in to iManage Work as a different user?

Sign out of iManage Work and sign in as another user. Every time you open iManage Work, you are signed in as this user. Repeat the steps to sign in as another user.

How do I refresh my iManage Work screen?
Press Command+R to refresh the view.

I closed my iManage Work application. How do I reopen it?
Select the iManage menulet images/download/thumbnails/129631700/MenuletIcon.png and select Open iManage Work.

Why is the Print option not available in the Preview window?
iManage Work Desktop for Mac 10.2.3 or later supports this feature. It is unavailable in previous versions of the application.

Can I open my iWork documents in iManage Work for editing from iManage Work?
The Edit option is available for iWork Suite documents only if you use iManage Work web client 10.2.0.12 or later. If you have an older iManage Work web client, use the Open Document option on the iManage menulet images/download/thumbnails/129631700/MenuletIcon.png or the iManage Open option on the Services menu in an integrated iWork Suite application to open/check out documents using the iManage Work Open dialog box.

Why am I not able to see my iWork file types in the left pane in iManage Work?

Document integration

When I use iManage Work Desktop for Mac, can I filter the files in iManage Work based on their format?
Currently, you can use the File Type option in iManage Work to filter by Document, Spreadsheet, Presentation, PDF, and All. Besides displaying Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint, and Adobe Acrobat (PDF) file types, these filters also display iWork Suite documents (Pages, Keynote, and Numbers).

When I check out a document, where is it stored on my local machine?
Open the Finder window and select Documents > iManage. This is the default location on your Mac where the document is checked out. If you administrator has enabled the Checkout Documents In Home Directory option, the document is checked out to the iManage folder in your home directory. For more information, refer to the Customizing application settings section in iManage Work Desktop for Mac Installation Guide.

How do I know that the task I performed on my document using iManage Work Desktop for Mac is done?
iManage Work Desktop for Mac momentarily displays success and failure notifications for document upload, save as PDF, and check-in activities. For example, when a document is successfully uploaded, saved as a PDF, or when check-in fails due to unavailability of the network or due to a conflict. To view all notifications later (for macOS Big Sur or later), select the date and time section in the upper-right corner of your Mac. For earlier macOS versions, select images/download/thumbnails/129631700/NotificationsCentreIcon.png (Notification Center) in the upper-right corner of your Mac menu bar.

Email management

Can an email client be invoked to send an attachment from iManage Work?
Yes. Based on the Preferences > Email Client Configuration settings, a new email window with the attachment, link to the attachment, or both will open either in Microsoft Outlook or Apple Mail.

Can I file an email and/or its attachments to iManage Work?
Yes, this is supported from Apple Mail and Microsoft Outlook using the:

  • Services > Save Attachments and Save Email Message options. For more information, refer to the Save emails and attachments using the Services menu section in iManage Work Desktop for Mac User Guide.

  • File option in the iManage Work panel in Microsoft Outlook. For more information, refer to the Save emails and attachments using the iManage Work panel in Microsoft Outlook section in iManage Work Desktop for Mac User Guide.

  • Send and File option in the iManage Work panel in email that you are composing. For more information, refer to the Filing emails while sending them section in iManage Work Desktop for Mac User Guide.

Can I file my email to multiple locations?
You can repeat the filing process as many times as you want and file the email to a new location each time. For more information, refer to the Saving emails and attachments to iManage Work section in iManage Work Desktop for Mac User Guide.

Can I file multiple emails at the same time?
Select one or more emails you want to file to iManage Work, select Services > Save Email Message. Alternatively, you can select one or more emails in Microsoft Outlook and drag them to the required folder in iManage Work. For more information, refer to the Saving emails and attachments to iManage Work section in iManage Work Desktop for Mac User Guide.

NOTE:

The Services menu options are not supported for New Outlook and you must file one email at a time using the File option in the iManage Work panel. For more information, refer to the Using the iManage Work panel in Microsoft Outlook section in iManage Work Desktop for Mac User Guide.

Sometimes, the following error message appears on the iManage Work filing dialog box when I try to file emails using the iManage Work panel in Microsoft Outlook:

This error may sometimes be displayed due to slow network. Check the network connection, close the iManage Work filing dialog box and try filing again.

Can the iManage Work add-in be deployed for an on-premise or a hybrid Microsoft Exchange Server?
No. Currently, the deployment is supported only for Exchange Server - Exchange Online.

A few hours ago my administrator deployed the iManage Work add-in for all users in the organization using Microsoft Office admin centre but it is not yet available in my Microsoft Outlook yet. Does my account have an issue that needs to be fixed?
Due to Microsoft Outlook expected behavior, it may take up to 12 hours after deployment for the add-in to be displayed in users' Outlook toolbar. Wait for this duration and then restart Outlook to view and start using the panel.

How can I save my email attachments?
From your mailbox, select one or more emails that contain the attachments that you want to file to iManage Work, select Services > Save Email Message. For emails that you have saved locally, select one or more emails, right-click any email from the selection and then select Upload to iManage Work. Alternatively, you can select one or more email attachments in Microsoft Outlook and drag them to the required folder in iManage Work. For more information, refer to the Saving emails and attachments to iManage Work section in iManage Work Desktop for Mac User Guide.

NOTE:

The Services menu options are not supported for New Outlook, and you can save email attachments using the Save attachments option in the iManage Work panel. For more information, refer to the Using the iManage Work panel in Microsoft Outlook section in iManage Work Desktop for Mac User Guide.

Can I drag email attachments to iManage Work to save them?
This feature is currently supported only for Microsoft Outlook and is unavailable for Apple Mail.

I am unable to open the iManage Work panel in Microsoft Outlook and the following error message is displayed even when I try again:

Ensure that you are connected to the internet and the iManage menulet images/download/thumbnails/129631700/MenuletIcon.png appears in the menu bar indicating that the application is running. Select Try Again and sign in to connect to iManage Work. The iManage Work panel appears.

I am unable to install the iManage Work add-in for Microsoft Outlook for Microsoft 365 on my Windows machine and the following error appears:

The iManage Work add-in for Microsoft Outlook is not intended to work on the Windows platform. It supports installation on Microsoft Outlook for Microsoft 365 for macOS only. Other queries

Can I switch off the automatic updates for iManage Work Desktop for Mac? If yes, how do I do it?
Yes, you can switch off automatic updates. Set the value of the updateCheckInterval option in the com.imanage.configuration.plist file to 0 (zero) to disable auto updates. For more information, refer to the General settings section in iManage Work Desktop for Mac Installation Guide.

Why am I not able to see any iManage options on the Services menu for any of the supported Microsoft Office applications installed on my Mac?
To avoid this issue, ensure that supported office applications are present in the /Applications folder, which is the default location where the Microsoft installer copies Office applications.

The iManage Work Desktop for Mac installer looks for Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) in the /Applications folder and is unable to install the files related to Office applications if the applications are moved to some other folder.
