The setup steps in this guide cover enabling iManage AI Enrichment, importing property values, defining captions, and displaying properties in iManage Work. After completing them, use the guidance on this page to confirm everything is working as expected.
Ensure all fields are displayed as expected in the Properties panel, Grid view, and search results in iManage Work. Validate that new or edited documents are being enriched with property information, and that you can search for these documents based on their enriched properties.
As documents are enriched, the status of each document is reported in the Enrichment Status Code property. For more information about the specific codes, refer to Enrichment status codes.
This section is the final step in the Setup and validation workflow.
In this section:
Task: Verify that AI Enrichment is working as expected
To confirm that enriched properties display correctly across iManage Work and that documents are being enriched as expected:
IMPORTANT: Wait the full 8-hour back-end propagation period after enabling iManage AI Enrichment before performing this validation.
In iManage Work Web, select a document that was recently uploaded or edited after you completed the setup steps above, from Grid or List view.
In the Properties panel, confirm that the enriched properties display the expected values—Category for all documents, and for documents classified as Agreement: Jurisdiction, Governing Law, Parties, Heading, and Agreement Date.
NOTE: Only documents categorized as Agreements receive the additional enriched properties listed above.
Run an Advanced search using one of the enriched properties (for example, search for documents where Category is Agreement) and confirm the search returns the expected results.
In Grid view, select the view settings icon and add the enrichment properties you want to verify (they aren't displayed by default), then confirm they display correctly. If you don't see the option to add these properties, iManage AI Enrichment isn't set up correctly.
NOTE: List view doesn't display properties as columns. It supports filtering only; verify filtering in Step 5.
Apply a filter using one of the enriched properties (Category, Agreement Date, Governing Law, or Jurisdiction) and confirm the document list narrows as expected.
NOTE: If your administrator has made the Admin fields (Enrichment Status Code, Enrichment Date, and Enrichment Version) visible in the Extension Fields tab (Control Center > Metadata > Properties), you can verify them there too. For details on interpreting Enrichment Status Code values, refer to Enrichment status codes.
NOTE: If newly configured properties don't appear immediately, refresh the browser to ensure the latest configuration is displayed.
What to check if something isn't working
If enriched properties don't display as expected in any of the steps in Task: Verify that AI Enrichment is working as expected, check the following first:
Propagation delay: Confirm the full 8-hour back-end propagation period has elapsed since enabling iManage AI Enrichment. Properties won't appear until this period is complete.
Enablement scope: iManage AI Enrichment properties are only visible when enabled both globally and for the specific library by a Tenant Admin or iManage Control Center Admin. If properties don't appear in any document, confirm enrichment is enabled for that library.
Display configuration: Enriched properties must be individually added to each display location (Properties panel, Grid or List view, Advanced Search, and Filters). This is a separate step from enabling the application. If a property doesn’t appear anywhere, confirm it’s been added via the relevant configuration task in this guide.
