iManage AI Enrichment provides intelligent, AI-driven capabilities that improve how documents are organized, discovered, and managed in iManage Work Web. Key features include:
Automated document classification: iManage AI Enrichment automatically analyzes document content using AI models to detect and classify documents, without requiring manual input. Each document is assigned a top-level Category—Agreement, Court Document, or Undetermined—keeping categorization accurate and consistent across your organization and enhancing everyday workflows.
Agreement sub-type identification: For documents classified as Agreement, iManage AI Enrichment identifies the agreement’s specific sub-type (66 supported sub-classes) by running an Agreement sub-class model to determine which label to apply. This step runs automatically and doesn’t produce a separate visible property.
Agreement-specific metadata enrichment: Once iManage AI Enrichment has identified a document as an Agreement with one of the available sub-class labels, it extracts key agreement-specific information and populates AI-enriched metadata properties such as Agreement Date, Governing Law, Jurisdiction, Parties, and Heading, streamlining review and improving organization. Documents categorized as Court Document or Undetermined receive only the Category property and the administrative properties; they receive no additional agreement-specific enriched metadata.
Integrated search and filtering: AI-enriched metadata properties can be used in Advanced Search, filters, and facets (when enabled by an administrator), helping users locate relevant agreement documents more efficiently. This same enriched metadata also powers in-depth reporting and analytics in tools like Insight+.
Configurable visibility of enriched metadata: Administrators control where enriched metadata properties are displayed in iManage, letting you customize by customer and library. Enriched properties can be shown in the document Properties panel, in Grid and List views, Advanced Search, and in search filters, depending on configuration. Only enabled properties are visible to users.
NOTE: Grid and List views aren’t available for the admin properties of Enrichment Date, Enrichment Status Code, and Enrichment Version.
AI-populated and user-editable metadata: Enriched metadata properties are populated automatically by AI and marked with an AI icon, reducing manual data entry and letting users focus on higher-value tasks. Seven enriched properties are editable by users with read/write access to the document, while administrative enrichment properties are read-only. If a user edits an enriched metadata value, future enrichment is disabled for that document version.
Consistent experience across libraries: Property names and values used by iManage AI Enrichment are standardized globally. If an enriched property is disabled, its values are hidden from view but retained. This ensures consistent behavior across libraries.
Security and governance: All enrichment metadata remains within the iManage platform and inherits iManage security and compliance protections. Enriched metadata is subject to the same security and governance controls as other document metadata in iManage Work, strengthening information governance and regulatory alignment across your organization.
