To help you use the full benefit of its functionality, Ask iManage user interface lets you customize your questions based on your requirements and provides you with a response that conforms to the questions you have asked.

To make asking questions easier, Ask iManage provides question suggestions that are dynamic, document-specific recommendations designed to improve your productivity.

For example, if you want to generate a summary by selecting Summarize for the Commercial Lease Agreement - FINAL.docx document, then Ask iManage provides question suggestions as shown in the following figure:

NOTE: Ask iManage automatically responds in the language you use for your query. You can also request a specific language for the response, if needed.

  • Automatic Detection: Ask iManage detects your query language and responds in the same language.

  • Custom Language Requests: Specify any language you'd prefer for the response, and Ask iManage will accommodate your request.

Overview

Ask iManage generates an automatic overview of the selected document’s content without any additional prompts. Ask iManage captures the salient details of the document and organizes the response in a logical manner that's easy to understand.

You can’t type a question when you select Overview as the Q&A box isn't displayed.

Summarize

You can enter a question to seek a summary of a specific section in the document. You may, where applicable, provide context and preferences. The summary includes all the key points relevant to the question asked and provides a factually correct and focused response.

  • Summarize the key components of the 'Data Protection Law' as defined in the document.

  • What are the implications of the 'Change' definition on the Managed Services?

  • Outline the responsibilities of the Supplier regarding the Business Continuity Plans.

Analyze

Ask a question that assesses whether your content aligns with a specified requirement. You may include what's it that you want to analyze and the associated requirements. The response will include detailed reasoning, highlight potential ambiguities, and cite relevant document content.

  • Does the definition of 'Confidential Information' comply with the requirements set forth in clause 16.1?

  • Is the definition of 'Customer Data' consistent with the data protection laws mentioned in the document?

  • Does the document outline the necessary components of a Business Continuity Plan as per the defined terms?

Extract

You can ask a question to retrieve exact text from your content. For example, you may want to extract a specific clause, or verbatim.

  • Retrieve the definition of 'Core System' as provided in the document.

  • What is the meaning of 'Critical Service Level Failure' as defined in schedule 3?

  • Extract the list of functionalities enabled by the Core System.

Q&A

Ask anything and Ask iManage will intelligently route your request to the right action.

  • What are the main functionalities of the Core System that support Customer Data management?

  • How does the document define 'Customer Materials' and what implications does this have for the Customer?

  • What are the key aspects of the disaster recovery plan mentioned in relation to the Core System?

Question list

You can use a predefined set of questions to get responses.

You can create a question list and add questions to it. For instructions about how to work with question lists, refer to Working with question lists and questions.

In addition, you can also use the Q&A box to ask any question.

  • Who are the parties involved and what are their roles?

  • What are the key clauses governing the agreement?

  • What are the specific clauses for the tenant?

  • Obligations of the tenant about alterations.

  • Costs associated with unauthorized alterations.

Chronology

This creates a timeline of key events and dates.

In addition, you can also use the Q&A box to ask any question.
