NOTE: When asking questions in a Microsoft Word document, if the document contains comments, then Ask iManage displays text from the comments as well.

NOTE: When using the Compare and Redline analysis feature, you can compare the following file types:
Microsoft Word files (.doc, .rtf, and .docx files)
Microsoft Excel files (.xls and .xlsx files)
PDF files (.pdf files)
Emails without and with attachments (.msg and .eml files)
NOTE: When you ask questions for emails that have attachments, Ask iManage does display the answers, but when you want to preview the evidence, an “Evidence is not found message” is displayed, if the answer displayed is available in the attachment and not in the email.
The maximum document size is 400,000 tokens. For context, 400,000 tokens is approximately 800–1,000 pages of legal text.
Unsupported files
ZIP files
Password-protected files. This is because the text layer can’t be retrieved and an error message is displayed.
Documents with screenshots and shapes only.
Image files or screenshots.
Files that are more than 1000 pages long and that have less than 200 chars per page are also not supported.
