search_matters

• Description: Search matters using a structured query with tiered search terms. Searches across matter name, legal descriptions, business development description, and marketing notes. Returns matter name, status, outcome, open/close dates, client, work type, industry, location, value, lead lawyer, and description snippets. Mandatory terms must exist in the matter record. High priority terms boost matter ranking when present. Loose terms provide a minor ranking boost. Optionally filter results by client name, industry, governing law, location, work type, area of law, outcome, or status. Filters target the nested description field of taxonomy/lookup types (e.g., industry.description, outcome.description, client.name). Multiple values in a filter use OR logic; different filters are ANDed together.

find_matters_for_documents

get_matter_metadata

• Description: Fetch all available metadata fields for a specific matter. The clientId and matterId come from matter search results. Returns all schema fields for the matter, or null if not found.

Find people and experts

search_person_profiles

• Description: Find Persons whose profile (name, job title, biography) matches a topic. To find the best experts on a topic, combine all three signals: (1) profile matching via this tool, (2) document authorship via Search_persons_in_top_documents, (3) matter experience via Search_persons_in_top_matters. Mandatory terms must exist in the person record. High priority terms boost person ranking when present. Loose terms provide a minor ranking boost. Optionally filter by person full name.
