To create a location type:

  1. In Library Manager, expand the cluster, then the library, and then Metadata.

  2. Under Metadata, right-click the Location Type node and select Add.

  3. In the Add Metadata dialog, update the fields as specified in the Location Type Metadata fields table:

Description

SID

Don't modify. This field is a system-generated ID.

IS_ENABLED

This field controls whether the metadata can be assigned during data creation and updates, or if it's only preserved in existing data.

MODIFIED_TIME

Don't modify.

CREATED_TIME

Don't modify.

LOCATION_TYPE_ID

Enter a short identifier for this location type.

NAME

Enter the name of this location type—for example, Vault.

DESCRIPTION

Enter a short description for this new location type.

ICON

Insert a reference to a graphic file that represents the icon in the user interface.

PARENT_REQUIRED_F

Indicates if items of this location type require a parent.

VALID_CHILDREN_RSID

Choose a list of all other location types that can be contained within this location type:

  1. Double-click the Value field.

  2. Select Add, then select the media type.

  3. Select OK.

  4. Repeat Steps b and c to select multiple valid children for this media type.

  5. Select OK to return to the Add Metadata dialog.

METADATA_ID

Don't modify. This field represents an internal pointer to the table row. Library Manager will assign a value to this field after you select OK.

STORAGE_PROVIDER

  1. Select OK.
