The following option can be used to load or update any element, including clients, matters, and records. When using this option, the Define attribute is implied, and doesn't need to be specified for each element in the XML data file. Refer to the Records Manager.xsd schema file for the complete list of available element names.

-au <elementname;elementname>

Example:

IRMDataLoader -f sample.xml -au Location;MembershipPolicy -l rmichaels -p password -c rmcluster -d company.com

If you do NOT include the data update command line option -au, Data Loader reads the Define attribute value (“yes” or “no”) and determines whether to update or load the information for each element individually. If the Define attribute isn't included for each element, the element is passed over and isn't updated.
