An audit trail or audit log is a chronological sequence of events, each of which contains evidence directly about and resulting from the execution of a process or system function. Changes to items and actions specified in Library Manager, whether made in IRM Desktop Client for Records Managers or IRM Desktop Client for Users, are recorded in an audit trail with the exact nature and details of each change.
For more information about viewing audit trails, refer to IRM Desktop Client for Records Managers User Guide.
Audit controls are defined in the IRM server and are used to determine or specify which information will be made available in the audit trails or audit log.
All of the following items or objects support audit logs:
File plan components: Client, Matter, and Record
User Accounts
User Groups
Associated Metadata Elements
The following actions show audit log entries:
Create
Edit (at the element and value level)
Delete
Event Processing
Search
Privileges
If the library-level privilege for View Audit History is granted by default, IRM Server will automatically allow all users to view audit histories. If it isn't granted by default, IRM Server won't allow all users to view audit histories.
Setting the library-level privilege View Audit History to true grants the privilege to all users who aren't a part of any group. Setting this to false means all users (who aren't part of a group) can't perform this function.
