Trustees (users) are stored in a master realm, which has a similar structure to LDAP. Each library must have either a master realm or a slave realm (which is a pointer to a master realm in another library). To sign in to IRM Desktop Client for Records Managers or IRM Desktop Client for Users applications, the user must have an account in a realm in the library.
Trustees inherit many properties from their parent container. By default, trustees added to a realm inherit the realm settings.
Typically, you synchronize your trustees with an LDAP server. However, you can also add users manually to a library using Library Manager.
We recommend that you manually create a special user to administer the facilities.
