IRM (versions 10.0.9 and later) adds unique salt values to the password hashing process, so matching passwords generate distinct hash values. Any new account passwords created or modified using Library Manager (10.0.9 or later) are stored with a unique salt. Earlier clients can sign in to a 10.0.9 or later server only if the account was created in a version lower than 10.0.9 and a password change hasn't been effected through the library manager.
Earlier clients can change their password using the Change Password option on the sign-in screen.
For an account without a unique salt, when signed in through a client version 10.0.9 or later, the password hash is seamlessly upgraded to use a unique salt. Earlier clients can't sign in to this account after the password change is completed.
NOTE: The password used for signing in to Application Designer is upgraded if you sign in with Application Designer version 10.0.9 or later. This means previous versions of Application Designer can no longer sign in. Ensure that all desired changes are made to the old data model (through the old Application Designer), before signing in with Application Designer 10.0.9 or later.
