You can customize the appearance of components in the Navigation Pane.
The Navigation Pane is the column on the left side of the Application Designer window that includes buttons or icons for each of the components: Forms, Reports, Views, and Configuration.
The components in the Navigation Pane can be displayed in two formats: Buttons or Icons. You can determine the format in which you want the components to appear in the Navigation Pane.
Both formats (Buttons or Icons) perform the same function.
