About This Document

This document contains instructions for using Application Designer, which allows you to create and modify forms, reports, captions, images, icons, and views used by IRM Desktop Client for Records Managers and IRM Desktop Client for Users.

This document is intended for Records Managers and system administrators who can configure and customize IRM Desktop Client for Records Managers and IRM Desktop Client for Users.

Terminology Note

References in this help to "Records Manager Server", "IRM Server", and "IRM Service" are equivalent. If you're using or connecting to iManage Records Manager Service at cloudimanage.com, such references are interchangeable with "iManage Records Manager Service in the Cloud".

Conventions

This help uses the following conventions:

Bold

User-interface elements such as a menu item or button. For example:
Select Cancel to halt the operation.

Italics

Document titles and new terms. For example:

  • For more information, refer to iManage IDOL Server Administration Guide.

  • An action command is a request, such as a query or indexing instruction, sent to IDOL Server.

monospace font

File names, paths, and code. For example:
The FileSystemConnector.cfg file is installed in C:\iManage\FileSystemConnector\

monospace bold

Data typed by the user. For example:

  • Type run at the command prompt.

  • In the User Name field, type Admin.

monospace italics

Replaceable strings in file paths and code. For example:
user UserName

You can retrieve the latest available product documentation from iManage’s Knowledge Base in the iManage Help Center. A document in the Knowledge Base has a version number (for example, version 7.5) and may also have a revision number (for example, revision 3). The version number applies to the product that the document describes. The revision number applies to the document. The Knowledge Base contains the latest available revisions of any document.
