After generating a report, you can export the information from it to a file in any of the following formats:

  • PDF

  • RTF

  • XML

  • CSV

Exporting enables you to distribute and share report information with external applications.

To export the information from a report to a file:

  1. Generate the report. Refer to Generate Reports.

  2. From the File menu, select Export Report. The Export Report To dialog opens.

  3. In the Export Report To dialog, select a location to save the file.

  4. In the File name field, enter a name for this file.

  5. From the Save as type field, select one of the available file types.

  6. Select Save.

Exporting in VERS format

  1. Sync a workspace/document folder/document into IRM from Work using Policy Service Configuration Utility.

  2. Browse to the Administration tab, select New from the top menu ribbon, select Retention Event.

  3. In the New Event dialog, complete the following fields:

    • Name

    • Event Type: Select Export

  4. Select OK.

  5.  Right-click Schedules, and then select New Schedule.

  6. In the New Schedule dialog, complete the following fields:

    • Retention ID

    • Name

    • Select Add, select the Export event created in step 3, and then select OK.

  7. Browse to the Records tab and the workspace/document folder/document synced from Work.

  8. Right-click and select Properties. The Edit File Part dialog opens.

  9. In the Edit File Part dialog, assign the schedule to Retention Schedule and then select OK.

  10. To start the export, right-click the workspace/document folder/document to which the schedule has been assigned and select Dispose records. 
    Select Yes. The Disposition Processing dialog opens.

  11. Complete the following fields:

    • Selected Event Type: Select the export event type 

    • Authorised by: The responsible attorneys name

  12. Select Process. The disposition is processed.

NOTE: The status bar under the results table turns green in color if the disposition is successful. If there are any issues, the error message with the related details are shown under the results table.

  1.  Once the status bar turns green completely, select Close.

  2. The exported XML report can be found in C:\ProgramFiles\iManage\PolicyService\exported_records.

It's possible to configure a different location for the default export folder.

  1. Browse to the Policy service application installation folder (<install path>\iManage\Records Manager\Policy Service).

  2. Right-click on the imfederatedfilingservice.exe.config file and select Edit.

  3. The existing entry is as mentioned below:

    <add key="exportPath" /> 
  4. Add a "value" attribute to change the location of the default export folder as shown below:

    <appSettings>
    <add key="exportPath" value="c:\custom export folder" />
  5. Select Save to save the setting.
