If your administrator has configured this functionality, you can save time by filing emails automatically to the default email folder by just selecting the workspace associated with the email.

  1. Select an email in your Inbox, and select the Email filing tab in the iManage Work task pane.

NOTE: The names and labels of clients, workspaces, and files displayed in your iManage Work task pane may differ from those in this documentation. These labels can be customized for your organization.

  1. With the Email filing tab selected, find the location among the workspaces visible in the task pane, or use the search bar to find a destination workspace.

NOTE: When you attempt to file to a Workspace, iManage Work for Outlook finds the default email folder if one exists, and displays it in the Selected filing location area of the task pane.

NOTE: If you select a workspace and that workspace doesn’t have a default email folder, a notice displays at the top of the pane prompting you to select another folder under the workspace.

  1. Select the check box for the destination workspace for the email.
Select filing location at the top of the task pane displays the status, and the number of locations selected and the path within iManage Work where the email will be filed.

  2. Near the lower end of the iManage Work task pane, expand the Filing options menu, and select the filing options you want:

    • Rename and file as: Lets you rename the email before it’s filed to iManage Work.

    • Delete after filing: Deletes email from Microsoft Outlook folders after the email is filed in iManage Work.

    • File as private: Makes the filed email visible only to you or the limited group you designate.

  3. To complete the process of filing the email to the default folder in that workspace in iManage Work, select File email.

NOTES:

  • After you file an email, the Filed icon.png Category will be applied to that email for the To and Cc recipients in your organization, so they know it's already been filed to iManage Work.

  • A Bcc recipient in your organization will only see the filed Category on the email if they filed it or if the Sender filed the email in Sent Items.
