iManage Work enables you to perform simple and advanced search for items from a single window. This allows you to:

  • Experience easier navigation as the simple and advanced searches direct you to the same results page providing you a seamless user experience and allowing filtering on any result set.

  • Perform a combined search for documents and emails together using the Docs & Emails criteria.

  • Set the search scope upfront, resulting in more narrow and targeted search results. Search results can be further narrowed down by applying filters or adjusting the scope of the search results.

  • Continue refining a simple search into an advanced search with additional search criteria and in the same window while staying in the context of your current location, and also maintain finer control of your search and curate your own search form.

  • Fields added to advanced search are remembered and made available for your next search so that you don’t have to rebuild your search form every time.

  • Now search for files by version number, checked-out status; search for emails by the user who filed them in all instances of iManage Work, even in the integration dialog boxes such as the file picker dialog box in the advanced search form.

NOTE: When you are in the context of an item in the tree, then selecting on the simple search box defaults to the search type of that item.
For example—if you’re in the context of a folder, then selecting on the simple search box defaults to folder search.
