You can print a single file in iManage Work or select multiple files and then print them together using one of the following:

  • Print option when you select a file and then select the kebab menu , or in the context menu when you right-click a file.
  •  icon in the toolbar above the file list when you select one or more files.
  •  icon on Preview page for a file.

The print feature is supported for the following:

Integrated applications/file types

  • Microsoft Office (.docx, .docm, .doc, .dotx, .dotm, .xlsx, .xlx, .pptx, .ppt, .potx, .pot, .pptm)
  • iWork Suite (.key, .numbers, .pages)
  • Adobe Acrobat DC Pro and Adobe Acrobat Reader DC (.pdf)
  • Microsoft Outlook, Apple Mail, and Gmail (.eml)

Before you try to print files, ensure the integrated applications are installed. If the applications are not installed, a message is displayed asking you to install the application and try again.

Non-integrated file types

.jpg, .png, jpeg, .txt, .htm, .html, .rtf, .mht, .mhtml, .xml, .odt

An error message appears if users try to print file types that iManage Work Desktop for Mac does not support.

NOTE:

  • A system-generated message is displayed asking you to provide permissions for accessibility features when you try to print an email. For more information, refer to the Security configuration section in iManage Work Desktop for Mac Installation Guide.
  • Only the email is printed and not its attachments. This is the default behavior in email clients. To print an attachment, open it and print it manually.

Files created in applications integrated with iManage Work open in their native app and the files from non-integrated applications open in the Preview app and the printing activity is completed. The Timeline for the files displays the print activity and its details. On the document right-click menu in iManage Work, select Timeline and then select  on the Activities tab to view the following details:

  • Date and time the file was printed
  • Name of the user who printed it
  • Version that was printed

Each print activity in the Timeline also states the file was printed using iManage Work Desktop for Mac.
