While composing an email, forwarding or replying to an email, or sending a meeting invite, you can use the iManage Work panel in the email window in Microsoft Outlook to insert attachments (files or links to the files) that you want the sender to refer to.

  1. In the email that you are composing in Microsoft Outlook, select iManage Work from the toolbar. To add the option to the toolbar, refer to Adding the iManage Work option to the toolbar.

  2. From the panel that opens, select Insert attachment

  3. In the Select dialog, locate the desired iManage Work file and select it.

  4. Select Attach File. The document is attached to the email. Alternatively, select the Attach File AttachFile.png drop-down button and select Attach Link (insert an NRL link) or Attach Hyperlink.
    The file and link are added as attachments while the hyperlink is added inline at the pointer location. 

When the email recipient has iManage Work Desktop for Windows or another iManage Work desktop application and uses the hyperlink to open and edit a file from an integrated application, the changes are saved to iManage Work. 

Using the iManage Work view in the panel

  1. In the iManage Work panel, select Open Work panel.

  2. Navigate to the desired file and select the  icon or right-click the file.

  3. Point to Share and then select one of the following options:

    • Send Link

    • Send Document

    • Send Both

  4. In the Share Document dialog that opens in the panel, enter the recipient's email ID in the Send to field. 

  5. Enter the email message and select the available check boxes as required.

  6. Select Send.

Alternatively:

  1. In the email you are composing, select iManage Work from the toolbar. To add the option to the toolbar, refer to Adding the iManage Work option to the toolbar

  2. In the panel that opens, select Open Work panel.

  3. Browse to the desired file and drag it into the email body. A hyperlink to the file is added. Users can select this link to open the file in iManage Work.
