• What is BlackBerry UEM?
    BlackBerry Unified Endpoint Manager (UEM) allows you to securely manage devices, enterprise applications including BlackBerry Dynamics apps, and secure content with all the benefits that come with software as a service. It provides a single, integrated view of the users, devices, applications, and policies in your environment, with comprehensive support for devices operating on a wide range of platforms.

  • Can we use common login form of authentication?
    The Common Login form of App Authentication is now compatible with iManage Work Mobility for BlackBerry Dynamics.

  • What is MDM and what are the benefits?
    Mobile Device Management (MDM) primarily deals with corporate data segregation, securing emails, securing corporate documents on devices, enforcing corporate policies, integrating and managing mobile devices including laptops and handhelds of various categories. MDM implementations may be either on-premises or cloud-based.

  • How can users switch to a different iManage Work system without signing out of iManage Work Mobility?
    1. With the app open, tap the navigation menu at the top of the screen, and select to display the list of other iManage Work systems available.

    2. Select the iManage Work system that you want to switch to from the list.

    3. Select Sign In, and enter the sign in credentials.

  • When a user signs out (Settings > Sign Out), why does the app appear to fail?
    When a user signs out of iManage Work, the app closes to delete all locally saved documents and emails. This is by design to ensure that no sensitive information is left on the device after the user signs out.

  • Can users edit documents when their mobile device is offline or in Airplane Mode?
    When you preview an iManage Work document, a copy of the document is downloaded to your mobile device. You can view and edit the contents of the local copies even when your mobile device is offline or in Airplane Mode. Be sure to sync any changes made to the document to iManage Work when you are back online.

  • Why is the Demo connection not displayed in the list of servers?
    The Demo server connection can be used to download the application from the App Store, and test it before it is deployed in your environment. However, this is disabled by default, and the Demo connection is not listed on the Sign In screen of the iManage Work Mobility application.

    NOTE:

    It is recommended that you disable the Demo connection for production environments.

  • What happens to the locally stored document copies when the enable_downloading is set to false?
    If the enable_downloading is set to false, you cannot download matter for offline use. For previews, the locally stored encrypted document copies are deleted as soon as the viewer is closed.

  • How does sending and receiving work between applications for iManage Work documents?
    You can use Open In (Send) and Open In (Receive) allows the users to send and/or receive copies of documents from other BlackBerry SDK-enabled applications through the Transfer Files service. If DLP is disabled through the UEM (not recommended), it allows the iOS method of Open In to send and receive files to non-BlackBerry SDK-enabled applications. You can enable/disable DLP in the BlackBerry Dynamics profile.

  • What is the best practice for sharing data between apps?
    Using the BlackBerry Dynamics profile in BlackBerry UEM, you must enable data transfer from non-managed to managed apps, and disable data transfer from managed to non-managed apps, as shown in the following figure:

  • Why are users unable to add documents to a folder? Why is the Add button missing in the Folder view?
    Using the BlackBerry Dynamics profile in BlackBerry UEM, if the data transfer from non-managed to managed apps is disabled, the Add button () is not available in the Folder view.
