Basic Search is a keyword search that scans a document’s content; it doesn’t scan enriched metadata field values directly, and you can’t select enriched properties as search criteria. A keyword search returns a match only if that keyword is also in the body of the document itself. Because enriched metadata values are typically extracted from the document’s content, a keyword may often match both, but the match comes from the document content, not the metadata field. Because Basic Search is always a keyword search, results are limited to the 20 most recent versions of each matching document.
To search using enriched metadata properties as criteria, refer to Advanced Search and enriched metadata.
