This section explains which documents iManage AI Enrichment processes, including supported file types, size and character limits, language requirements, and content it doesn’t apply to.
In this section:
Supported file types
iManage AI Enrichment supports the following file types: .doc, .docm, .docx, .dot, .dotm, .dotx, .odt, .ott, .pdf, .rtf.
NOTE: iManage AI Enrichment delivers accurate results for documents with at least 80% English-language content. Metadata values, such as Agreement Date or Heading, aren’t enriched if they’re in other languages.
Document size and character count
iManage AI Enrichment processes only the first one million (1,000,000) characters of each document:
File size limit: There's no file size limit for documents.
Minimum document size: Documents with fewer than 100 characters aren’t enriched.
Maximum document size: Content beyond one million characters is excluded from metadata enrichment.
TIP: If you notice that some content in very large documents isn't reflected in the enrichment properties, it may be because it appears after the first one million characters.
Where enrichment doesn’t apply
iManage AI Enrichment doesn't apply to:
Native email formats, such as .msg or .eml (an email saved as a .pdf and added to iManage Work is treated as a document and is eligible for enrichment)
Folders
Files other than the supported document formats of .doc, .docm, .docx, .dot, .dotm, .dotx, .odt, .ott, .pdf, .rtf
NOTE: Email-derived PDFs typically retain a Correspondence classification, since agreement text is rarely found in the message body. For more on how email-derived documents are labeled in iManage Work, refer to Why are some emails classified while others aren’t? in the FAQ.
