This setting was originally added to comply with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) in the United States. This is a legacy setting that is no longer shown in iManage Control Center. All documents in iManage Work at cloudimanage.com are automatically encrypted at rest.

Q: Are extended metadata properties impacted by iManage Refile?

A: The iManage Refile Service propagates changes made to the property values on a parent container to its child folders and documents.

Extended properties are only applied to documents and emails. They aren't applied to parent containers. As a result, iManage Refile has no impact on extended properties. These properties can't be applied to workspaces and folders, and would never need to be propagated to the documents and emails stored within them.
