Q: Which are the browser types supported?

A: iManage File Transfer is supported for the following browsers:

We recommend using the latest generally available release version of any of these supported browsers for best performance and user experience. iManage provides support for these browsers based on each vendor's support policies. For example, if you're using an older version of Google Chrome no longer supported by Google, we won't support that version.

Q: Which file types are supported?

A: You can upload or save all file types that iManage Work at cloudimanage.com supports.

Q: On what devices can I use iManage File Transfer?

A: The extension is supported only on desktop versions (Microsoft Windows and macOS) of Microsoft Edge and Google Chrome. Browsers on mobile devices (iOS, Android) don’t support extensions.

Q: Is iManage File Transfer supported in multi-user environments like Citrix Xenapp or any other types of streaming applications services?

A: We don’t have a reason to expect any issues in these environments as long as the user’s Chrome or Edge profile is signed in as expected with iManage File Transfer enabled.

Q: How many files can I upload and download at once, and what are the file size limitations?

A: You can upload up to 5000 files in one time, but the combined file size shouldn't exceed 300 MB.

Q: Is it possible to block specific sites from using iManage File Transfer?

A: As of now, it isn't possible to block certain sites from using the extension.

Q: Can you enable iManage File Transfer on a website-by-website basis?

A: You can't enable iManage File Transfer on a website-by-website basis. For our extension to work, you must have the Site Access section in the browser extension settings set to On all sites.

Q: Why do users see a native save dialog instead of the iManage file picker dialog when starting a download?

A: The iManage File Transfer requires a download event to begin to intercept the flow and display the user with the Save to iManage dialog. If the browser is configured to ask where the file has to be saved before downloading, the user needs to select a location locally before the iManage Save As dialog is displayed.

We recommend that users configure their browsers to automatically download files to a defined location to avoid seeing the native Save dialog.

Even if users select a location in the native drive, iManage File Transfer deletes this locally saved copy after it's saved to iManage Work.

Q: Does iManage File Transfer work when downloading files from a PDF viewer page?

A: iManage File Transfer requires a download event to begin to intercept the flow and display the user with the Save to iManage dialog. Browser PDF viewers disregard the browser configuration to automatically save to a defined location (for example, Downloads folder) and prompt the user with a native save dialog. At this time, we're unable to add our flow before the native save dialog is displayed, requiring the user to select Save in the native dialog for the browser extension to activate.

Q: Are there any websites which won’t work with the iManage File Transfer?

A: Yes. We’ve noticed that the upload button on specific websites (such as https://m365.cloud.microsoft/) triggers a non-standard process that prevents iManage File Transfer from showing the iManage file picker dialog. We'll monitor for any other websites where iManage File Transfer doesn’t work and will update the list here.

Q: Can an administrator pre-populate the URL in the extension menu in case of subdomains?

A: No. The default URL is cloudimanage.com and the users can authenticate successfully. If the user updates the URL to include the subdomain, iManage File Transfer Extension saves the new URL.

Q: How often will users need to authenticate?

A: Users will need to authenticate whenever they don’t have a valid access token. The access token expiration for the application in iManage Control Center is configurable. If the user has an active session of iManage Work on a browser or browser tab, iManage File Transfer uses that.

Q: Will the credentials be stored as cookies?

A: No. Credentials are stored only in memory.

Q: Will full downloadable packages be available from Help Center?

A: We don’t plan to offer iManage File Transfer Extension as a downloadable package from Help Center. It'll only be distributed through the Chrome and Edge browser stores.

Q: How does the extension update?

A: The extension gets auto-updated when new versions are published by iManage in the browser store and approved by Google and Microsoft.

Q: How can the extension be deployed to users?

A: iManage File Transfer is publicly accessible through the Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge stores. Users with sufficient permissions can add the extension to their browser and begin using it as long as it’s been configured in their environment.

Administrators can also deploy and manage the extension using enterprise deployment technologies. For more information, go to the following:
