To configure a default box media type:

  1. Determine which media type should be the default box type, such as Large Box or Small Box. You must locate the system-generated ID for this media type.

  2. In Library Manager, expand the cluster, then the library, and then Metadata.

  3. Under Metadata, select Media Type.
    The individual media types display in the right pane of Library Manager.

  4. Right-click the media type that you want to make the default, and select Edit. The media type must be defined as a box media type (the media type option IS_BOX_F must be set to true).

  5. In the Edit Metadata dialog, note the SID (system-generated ID). For this example, the SID is 7.

  6. Select Cancel.

  7. In Library Manager, browse to System Configurations.
    The list of configurations is displayed on the right.

  8. Right-click the Default box media type when creating new boxes configuration and select Edit.

  9. In the Edit System Configuration dialog, in the Value field, enter the SID value from Step 4.

  10. Select OK to save your changes.
