The All Forms pane in Application Designer shows all the available components and the associated forms that can be customized.
The following steps refer to the New File Part form, but the steps are the same for any other form:
Start Application Designer and sign in to the Records Manager server. You must sign in to the server, which contains the extended metadata properties.
By default, Forms Designer opens. In the All Forms pane, expand the required component node.
Select a form. The form opens in Forms Designer.
Locate the appropriate control, based on the type of the metadata property. For example, to add a date metadata property to a new or edit form, use the NullableDatePicker control. To select metadata values from a picker, add the Criteria Picker control.
Table: Data types and recommended controls

Boolean | Checkbox (Windows Form control) |
Int | Text Entry (Windows Form control) |

Drag the selected control into the form and drop it to the desired location on the form. You may need to resize the form or reposition the existing controls to fit the new control.
The Properties pane on the right side shows the properties for the selected control. If no control is selected, then the properties for the entire form are shown.Define the properties for this control. Criteria Picker Details describes the properties available for each control.
NOTE: For the complete list of controls with descriptions, refer to Available Controls.
In general, the Role property must be set to Value, and the Profile property to one of the default or extended property schema names, such as Name or Approver comments.
All the profiles that can be associated with the control are shown in the Assign a schema value dialog.
For example, the File Part object corresponds to the Edit File Part, New File Part, New File Part using Template, and Search File Part forms. The Profile property for all the controls in these forms displays the available metadata properties and any extended tables associated with the File Part object. So, the Profile property displays metadata property names, such as Bar code, Created by, Box, and also any extended property names that are defined.
Save and publish the changes to the server. For more information about publishing forms, refer to Publishing Changes.
NOTE: A sample scenario, describing all the phases involved in customization, is included in Sample Scenario. For more information about modifying and customizing forms in the sample scenario, refer to Phase 5 - Customizing the Matter Forms.
