On the Case Details > Security tab, you can view a list of the holds that include the case, and add existing holds to the case.

Holds on a case are applied to all of the items in that case, regardless of security settings.

Viewing case holds

In the Cases dashboard

  1. Select anywhere on a case row to open the case page. The Overview tab is displayed, by default.
  2. Select the View Holds button. All of the holds which include the case are listed.
  3. Select a hold in the list to navigate to that hold. For more information, see Holds.

Adding existing holds to a case

In the Cases dashboard

  1. Select anywhere on a case row to open the client page. The Overview tab is displayed, by default.
  2. Select the View Holds button. All of the holds which include the case are listed.
  3. Select the Add Hold button. All available holds are listed.
  4. Use the filter and selection tools to select the holds you want the case to be a part of.
  5. Select OK. A confirmation message appears.

The hold is added to the case.

Removing holds from a case

Holds applied directly to a case can be removed from the case.

Holds applied to a case as a result of the case being part of a collection, can only be removed at the collection level.

In the Cases dashboard

  1. Select anywhere on a case row to open the case page. The Overview tab is displayed, by default.
  2. Select the View Holds button. All of the holds which include the case are listed.
  3. On the row of the hold that you want to remove, select .
  4. Select Remove. A confirmation dialog box appears.
  5. Select Yes.

A success message is displayed and the case is no longer under that hold.
