From the Matter Details > Security tab, you can view a list of the holds that include the matter, and add existing holds to the matter.

Holds on an item containing matters—for example a client or a collection—are also applied to those matters.

Viewing matter holds

In the Matters dashboard

  1. Select anywhere on a matter row to open the matter page. The Overview tab is displayed, by default.
  2. Select the View Holds button. All of the holds which include the matter are listed.
  3. Select a hold in the list to navigate to that hold. For more information, see Holds.

Adding existing holds to a matter

In the Matters dashboard

  1. Select anywhere on a matter row to open the matter page. The Overview tab is displayed, by default.
  2. Select the View Holds button. All of the holds which include the matter are listed.
  3. Select the Add Hold button. All available holds are listed.
  4. Use the filter and selection tools to select the holds you want the matter to be a part of.
  5. Select OK. A confirmation message appears.

The hold is added to the matter.

Removing holds from a matter

Holds applied directly to a matter can be removed from the matter. Holds applied to a matter as a result of the matter being part of another item, such as a case or a collection, can only be removed at the level of the containing item.

In the Matters dashboard

  1. Select anywhere on a matter row to open the matter page. The Overview tab is displayed, by default.
  2. Select the View Holds button. All of the holds which include the matter are listed.
  3. On the row of the hold that you want to remove, select .
  4. Select Remove. A confirmation dialog box displays.
  5. Select Yes.

A success message is displayed and the matter is no longer under that hold.
