Select the iManage Drive  icon in the Windows taskbar to access the iManage Drive panel. Use the application to:

  • connect to or switch between iManage Work accounts
  • view recent workspaces and documents, view notifications (if any)
  • sync the desired workspaces in iManage Work to your local drive and
  • download the files in the various folders in these workspaces.

You can select  to toggle between displaying and minimizing the panel; the resizing/repositioning is retained unlike when you select the system tray icon and the default size and position (lower-right corner) is restored.

The panel persists and is not minimized when you move to other applications, open other windows, or click outside the panel. It simply moves to the background and you can select the panel to bring it to the foreground and start using it again. Alternatively, select the system tray or taskbar icon.

You can view and access documents and workspaces using the following tabs in iManage Drive:

NOTE:

  • The recent documents and workspaces, which exist in the iManage Work Server that you are currently connected to are displayed in iManage Drive.
  • From version 10.4.1 onwards, if the iManage Work administrator has customized captions in iManage Work, which determine the labels displayed for UI elements like Documents, Matters, and My Work, you will see the same labels for corresponding UI elements in the iManage Drive user interface. For example, if the administrator chooses to name Matters as Workspaces; the same will reflect in iManage Drive UI. For more information, refer to the Metadata > Captions section in iManage Work Administrator Help.
  • Notifications: Displays messages from the application in case there is any activity that needs to be brought to your notice, but where no response is required from you. For example, when:
    • A folder/document you deleted is restored to your drive because you do not have permissions to delete it.
    • A folder/document is deleted from your drive because you are no longer permitted to access it.
    • A workspace is unlinked because you no longer have permissions to access it.
    • A conflict occurs. If there is a conflict for a document, you must choose what to do. The iManage Drive icon in the Windows task bar turns red . Select the notification to open the iManage Drive Conflict Resolution Editor. For more information about conflicts, see Conflict resolution.

      NOTE:

From version 10.9.0 onwards, a filter () is available in the Notification tab that gives you the option to select between all notifications or recent notifications. This allows you to view the most recent notifications and take actions as necessary. There are the options available:

      • Recent: Displays notifications from the last 7 days.
      • All: Displays all the notifications.
  • Documents: Displays the documents that you have recently accessed or checked out from iManage Work.
    • Recent Documents: Lists all the documents you have interacted with in the last 30 days.
    • Checked Out Documents: Displays the documents that you have checked out in your recent workspaces. All files checked out from iManage Work and iManage Drive display the lock icon.
  • Emails: Displays emails that were recently filed to iManage Work.
  • Recent Emails: Lists all emails filed to iManage Work in the last 30 days where you were the sender or where you were included in the To: or Cc: fields.
  • Emails filed By Me: Displays the last 30 emails you have filed.
  • Matters: Displays the workspaces that you recently accessed in iManage Work or synced to iManage Drive.
    • Synced Matters: List of workspaces that you synced to iManage Drive. These display the cloud icon .
    • Recent Matters: List of all workspaces that contain a document or email you have worked on in the last 30 days. A cloud icon is displayed for synced workspaces and the workspaces that are not synced to your drive appear dimmed.
    • My Work: All your workspaces.
  • Outbox: Displays documents that you checked out, modified, and saved on your local drive but are not yet synced to iManage Work.

On every tab in the iManage Drive panel, you can see the time when the last sync activity occurred and select the Refresh  icon to perform a sync and ensure that the latest information is displayed on the current and all other tabs. The panel reloads and the Last Updated time is changed to display the current time.

Hover your mouse pointer over a workspace, document, or email and select  to access the Sync to Local Drive and Open in iManage Work options. Workspaces listed on the Synced Matters and Recent Matters tabs display the Open in Local Drive option instead of Sync to Local Drive. The Properties option enables you to view the details of the workspace such as its owner, date of creation and modification, size, the number of documents it contains, and so on. The Diagnostics option enables you to run automated tests to ensure that the folders and files in the local drive are updated and accessible. Selecting a synced workspace opens your local drive, where the folders in the workspace are displayed with a cloud icon to indicate that the actual data is in iManage Work and what you see is just a list. Select any folder to view the documents it contains. Workspaces without the cloud icon appear dimmed and are not synced to your local drive. They open in iManage Work when you select them.

If you select other workspaces while online, you are prompted to sync them. Select Yes. iManage Drive syncs the contents of the workspace to your local drive. If the time taken to sync the content is large, the "Please wait while we fetch your documents" message is displayed. If the sync operation cannot be performed because of an unstable network or if the network connection fails, the "Content sync failed due to poor internet, please try again" message is displayed and users have the option to try again.

If you are offline and select any tab other than Notifications, no list is displayed and the "No Internet Connection" message appears instead.

Alternatively, select the Open iManage Work Browser  icon in the upper-right corner to open iManage Work Web in a browser and navigate to the desired document.
