Inserting links and files
You can insert a hyperlink, file, or picture using keyboard shortcuts in Microsoft Office applications by doing the following:
- Open Microsoft Office document or Microsoft Visio and press ALT and then press the shortcut key displayed in the application to navigate to the iManage tab. For example, press Y2 in Microsoft Word.
Alternatively, use the RIGHT/LEFT and UP/DOWN arrow keys. You can also use TAB to access the iManage tab when working with Microsoft Office applications or Microsoft Visio. - Do one of the following:
- To insert a hyperlink, press the shortcut key displayed in Microsoft Office application (Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, or Microsoft PowerPoint) or Microsoft Visio. For example, press Y9 in Microsoft Word to insert a link. The Insert iManage Link dialog box appears.
Use the RIGHT/LEFT and UP/DOWN arrow keys, and TAB key to navigate through the Insert iManage Link dialog box. Press SPACE when you have selected the document or when the Insert Latest Version button is highlighted.
Enter the text you want to hyperlink in Text for Hyperlink field and press ENTER. Alternatively, use the TAB key to highlight the OK button and then press ENTER. The hyperlink is inserted in the Microsoft Office document. - To insert a picture, press the shortcut key displayed in the Microsoft Office application (Microsoft Word or Microsoft PowerPoint) or Microsoft Visio. For example, press YB in Microsoft Word. The Insert iManage Picture dialog box appears.
Use RIGHT/LEFT and UP/DOWN arrow keys, and TAB key to navigate through the Insert iManage Picture dialog box. Press ENTER when you have selected the picture or when the Insert button is highlighted. - To insert text from a file, press the shortcut key displayed in Microsoft Word. For example, press YA in Microsoft Word. The Insert File dialog box appears.
Use RIGHT/LEFT and UP/DOWN arrow keys, and TAB key to navigate through the Insert File dialog box. Press ENTER when you have selected the document or when the Insert button is highlighted.
- To insert a hyperlink, press the shortcut key displayed in Microsoft Office application (Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, or Microsoft PowerPoint) or Microsoft Visio. For example, press Y9 in Microsoft Word to insert a link. The Insert iManage Link dialog box appears.

Inserting files into PDF files
To insert files into PDF files using keyboard shortcuts, do the following:
- Open Adobe Acrobat Pro DC and then press the shortcut displayed to access Insert from iManage option. For example, press R. The Select File to Insert dialog box appears.
- Use the RIGHT/LEFT and the UP/DOWN arrow keys, and TAB key to navigate through the Select File to Insert dialog box. Press ENTER when you have selected the document or when the Insert button is highlighted. The Insert Pages dialog box appears.
- Use the UP/DOWN arrow keys or the TAB key to navigate through the Insert Pages dialog box.
- Use the TAB key, navigate till the OK button is highlighted. Press ENTER to insert the PDF file.
