As an iManage Work user with full access to the security of a folder in the ACL (access control list), you can update the security details of the folder and also apply the same to the folder’s children (subfolders, documents, and so on).
Select the required folder and then select Default Security in the properties panel or directly select the Security tab.
Perform one or all of the following actions:
Turn on or turn off Inherit Security from Parent Folder.
Set the default security levels to Private, Public, or View.
Add or remove a user/group.
Edit user/group access levels.
After performing the desired actions, select Save.
In the Apply changes to folder contents dialog, select Yes to display the exceptions and settings.
Select one of the following options to proceed:
Apply changes only: Applies the changes made to the security profile of the folder on all the contents of the folder.
Overwrite security: Overwrites the existing security profile of all the contents of the folder, including default security, users, and groups, with the folder's security profile.
Select Apply.
To view the status of Apply security to contents actions in the Notifications panel, select the [:bell_icon: ] icon.
