Save As dialog box retains the last location

From now, when you use the iManage Save As option to save a new document or to save an attachment, the iManage Save As dialog box retains the last location, which means you don’t have to browse to the folder each time.

Additionally, when you save an existing document using the Save As option, the Save As dialog box by default navigates to the location from which the document was opened.

Enhanced accessibility to iManage Offline panel

You can now use Job Access With Speech (JAWS) screen reader 2022 with the iManage Offline panel. You can also use the keyboard alternatives for mouse clicks in the iManage Offline panel.

For more information about how to use the keyboard alternatives for iManage Offline panel, refer to the Viewing and uploading offline documents section in iManage Work Desktop for Windows Help.

Sign in process for iManage Work Desktop for Windows more efficient

You can now sign into iManage Work Desktop for Windows using your default browser instead of the Login dialog box. This feature is helpful, especially when you run into an issue with the traditional Login dialog box.

Enhancements to iManage Auto Updates

We’ve made enhancements to our iManage Auto Updates. From now on, after you install or upgrade to iManage Work Desktop for Windows 10.9.0, you:

  • No longer have to close your Microsoft Office or Adobe Acrobat application when you upgrade to a later build or version of the application. Once the updates are installed, a yellow InfoBar is displayed in your Microsoft Office application except Microsoft Visio.
  • Can make sure that the updates are automatically installed on your machine without you having to do anything.

To use the complete benefits of iManage Auto Updates, consult your administrator or refer to the iManage Work Desktop for Windows Installation Guide.

NOTE: You can use the above benefits only if you are upgrading from iManage Work Desktop for Windows 10.9.0 to a later version of the application. These benefits aren’t available if you are upgrading from a prior version of iManage Work Desktop for Windows (10.8.0 and prior).

Changes to co-authoring template

When you finish co-authoring a document and save it as a new document, you will see an email template with links to both the original and new document. Recipients can then select either the old or new document to co-author.

Enhanced accessibility to Browse and File dialog box and EMM toolbar

You can now use JAWS screen reader with Browse and File dialog box and EMM toolbar. You can also use the keyboard alternatives for mouse clicks on the EMM toolbar and Select Filing Location dialog box.

For more information about how to use the keyboard alternatives for EMM toolbar and Select Filing Location, refer to the Using EMM toolbar and Select Filing Location dialog box section in iManage Work Desktop for Windows Help

Improvements to email filing

We’ve improved how your emails are filed in iManage Work. From now on,

  • Emails can be filed, even if you moved them to a different location in your mailbox.
  • Emails that aren’t filed due to various errors are marked with an error status.

If you own the mailbox you are working on, then you can view all the emails that aren’t filed due to various errors by selecting the Show Filing Errors, available in iManage tab in Microsoft Outlook. All emails that didn’t get filed can be seen in the Email Filing Failures folder.

You can then use the Retry Filing option available in the right-click menu to retry to file these emails. The emails are reprocessed and then filed to the previously suggested location(s).

What’s new in iManage Drive

Version: 10.9.0 (May 2023)

Sync and open content directly from iManage Work to iManage Drive

You can now sync and open content you have saved in iManage Work directly to iManage Drive. You can:

  • select the workspace, folder, document, or email you want to sync, and then select Sync & Open in File Explorer in the kebab menu.

  • select multiple workspaces and then select  (Sync & Open in File Explorer).

If iManage Drive detects that the selected item hasn’t been synced, then the iManage Drive panel opens and prompts you to confirm the syncing of the selected items. Once the items are synced, Windows Explorer opens and you can view the synced items with them highlighted. For more information, refer to Syncing from iManage Work using web extensions section in iManage Drive Help.

NOTE: Your administrator must enable the iManage Drive Web Extensions in iManage Control Center for you to use this feature. Contact your administrator for more information.

Improvements when syncing and unsyncing matters from iManage Drive panel

When you select new matters to sync in the Select Matter to sync dialog box, they’re listed at the top of the Selected list with the New label. If you choose to unsync a matter, the To unsync label is displayed as shown in the below figure.

Additionally, we have changed the workspace menu option from Unlink to Unsync. Hence, from now, when you unsync matters from iManage Drive panel from Synced Matters, My Matters, or Recent Matters, you have to select Unsync instead of Unlink as shown in the following figure.

Improved UI when viewing sync issues

We’ve enhanced our Show sync issues dialog box in iManage Drive 10.9.0. Any items detected as having a sync conflict are now pre-selected in the sync dialog box. Also, the available options to resolve the sync issues are now prominently displayed at the bottom of the dialog box.

Additional wording has also been added to help you to take the most appropriate action. For more information about managing sync issues, refer to the Managing file sync issues section in iManage Drive Help.
