When you upload records to iManage Work, you can set fields like author, retention, date, or reviewer for these records.

Use custom fields in iManage Control Center to define these fields for the selected library. For information about custom fields, refer: https://docs.imanage.com/cloud/cc-help/en-US/Custom_Fields.html.

After adding values to custom fields in iManage Control Center, these fields are displayed with the aliases and enabled values in the Properties pane in iManage Work. When users set them in iManage Work at cloudimanage.com, iManage Disposition Manager uses these values to apply retention schedules and disposition rules.

After setting the fields, map them in iManage Disposition Manager for retention scheduling and eligibility reporting. For more information, refer to Configuring metadata mappings.

For example, when you add a date in the defined date field in iManage Work at cloudimanage.com for a record and then map this date field using metadata settings in iManage Disposition Manager, the application then uses this date to trigger a task to destroy the record.

We recommend that you define client, workspace, retention ID, date, and disposition reviewers in iManage Control Center and map these fields in iManage Disposition Manager so that it can use these values from iManage Work at cloudimanage.com. For more information, refer to the following table.
