In Library Manager, expand the cluster, then the library, and then Metadata.
Under Metadata, right-click the Event Type node and select Add.
In the Add Metadata dialog, update the fields as specified in the Event Type Metadata Fields table below.
NOTE: The entire content of the Add Metadata dialog corresponds to a single row in a metadata table.

SID | Don't modify. This field is a system-generated ID. |
IS_ENABLED | This field controls whether the metadata can be assigned during data creation and updates, or if it is only preserved in existing data. |
MODIFIED_TIME | Don't modify. |
CREATED_TIME | Don't modify. |
EVENT_TYPE_ID | Enter a short identifier for this event type. |
NAME | Enter the name for this event type—for example, Shred. |
NOTES | Enter any additional information about this media type. |
END_OF_LIFE_F | Indicates if this event is an archival event. Retentions events, which specify that a record is now inactive and can be archived are fulfilled by this event type. |
DESTRUCTION_CODE | Indicates what action should be taken by the server when an event of this type is processed:
NOTE: If you use any value other than those listed here, it's treated as NULL. |
METADATA_ID | Don't modify. This field represents an internal pointer to the table row. Library Manager assigns a value to this field after you select OK. |
IS_TRIGGER_F | Indicates whether the item is a trigger or a disposition event. |
IS_TIME_EVENT_DISPOSITION_F | Indicates whether this disposition is a TimeEvent type. |

APPLY_HOLD_F | Indicates that when this property is enabled, a retention hold on an item makes it ineligible for events of this type, that is, the item is removed from eligibility lists, searches, and so on. By default, this property isn't enabled. |
