This section contains the following information about event types:
Event types help you define a destruction mechanism during the disposition of records. When processing retention events, the following options are available:
Destroy Partial Metadata: This option automatically overwrites the name, description, and comments of the record or box. It also updates information for the record or box, for example, the record’s status and location.
Retain records (items) and metadata: This option retains records and associated metadata, along with an audit log of the destruction process.
No action: (Default) For all event types which aren't destruction events, no modifications or actions are taken on the record or box.
Destroy Records and Metadata: This option removes records (items) and metadata information completely from the database.
For more information, refer to the Destruction_Code field listed in the Event Type Metadata Fields table.
The default event types provided are for example purposes, and should be replaced by event types which fit the retention management needs of your organization.
