Mobile computers have an integrated scanner and a keypad or touchscreen. The barcode information is scanned and stored in the memory, and the data is later uploaded to the user’s computer.
The mobile computer becomes especially useful for certain circulation tasks, such as identifying the location of records that may be spread across an entire office or building.
When loaded with Records Manager mobile computer software, these units become a portable companion to the IRM Barcode Scanner Operations application. The application supports Zebra TC21 (Android operating system), Zebra TC52 (Android operating system), and other Android operating system mobile computers.
NOTES:
Unless stated otherwise, the procedures in this section of the guide assume you're using approved configurations of Zebra TC21 or Zebra TC52 mobile computers. Other Android operating system mobile devices are supported, but for device-specific instructions, refer to the operating instructions of your mobile device.
Previous versions of IRM Handheld Scanning Module supported Motorola MC3090 (Windows CE) and Datalogic Memor (Windows CE) mobile devices. For information about the supported versions for these devices, refer to iManage Records Manager Barcode Operations User Guide 10.0.7.
