With electronic records, iManage Records Policy Service captures configured metadata into the Records Manager system. This is relevant for retention management purposes. Records Manager security policies are responsible for controlling access to this metadata, in the same way as they do for physical records. iManage Records Policy Service lets you set the security policy for all electronic records to either Public, Private, or View.
Default security levels and access control lists (ACLs) from iManage Work can optionally be transferred to Records Manager. However, iManage Work remains the primary security mechanism for protecting the underlying content stream of electronic records.
