Records Manager automatically files iManage Work content within the Records Manager file plan in the identical hierarchy as seen in iManage Work. That is, the entire hierarchy of a iManage Work workspace, including its metadata, folders, and all declared versions of documents are individually referenced in the file plan.

The following figure shows how the Records Manager file plan references a iManage Work workspace and its content.

This operation is performed by the iManage Records Policy Service that monitors the iManage Work repository for new workspaces, folders, and declared versions; changes to their classification or metadata; and updates them in the file plan.
