A file part is an elemental component of the file plan. It represents a record container within a matter, which can contain other file parts. File parts are categorized by their media type (jacket, insert, document, and so on).
TIP: Empty file parts are displayed with an icon with no color fill per the corresponding media type.
File Part Properties
Select and then select Properties to view the following in the Details panel:
Properties tab: View and, where applicable, edit information about the file part.
If you have rights to adjust file part property information, it's possible to do so directly within this panel. Any changes made are recorded and displayed in the file part timeline.TIP: Client and Matter information is displayed on this tab.
Holds tab: Displays information about the holds assigned to the file part. Select to filter the holds.
Timeline tab: Displays information about the time, date, and the user who modified the file part. Select to filter the timeline.
Related tab: Displays related file parts and lets you add and remove related records.
NOTE: To expand or collapse the file part details menu, select the Hide Details icon.
