From the Client Group Details > Security tab, you can view a list of the holds that include the client group, and add existing holds to the client group.
Holds on a client group are applied to all of the clients in that client group, regardless of client group security settings.
Holds on a client are also applied to all of the matters under that client, regardless of client or matter security settings.

Viewing client group holds
In the Client Groups dashboard,
- Select anywhere on a client group row to open the client group page. The Matters page is displayed, by default.
- Select Client Group Details.
- Select the View Holds button. All of the holds which include the client group are listed.
Select a hold in the list to navigate to that hold. For more information, see Holds.
Adding existing holds to a client group
In the Client Groups dashboard,
- Select anywhere on a client group row to open the client page. The Matters page is displayed, by default.
- Select Client Group Details.
- Select the View Holds button. All of the holds which include the client group are listed.
- Select the Add Hold button. All available holds are listed.
- Use the filter and selection tools to select the holds you want the client group to be a part of.
- Select OK. A confirmation message displays.
The hold is added to the client group.
Removing holds from a client group
Holds applied directly to a client group can be removed from the client group.
Holds applied to a client group as a result of the client group being part of another item, such as a collection, can only be removed at the level of the containing item.
In the Client Groups dashboard,
- Select anywhere on a client group row to open the client group page. The Matters page is displayed, by default.
- Select Client Group Details.
- Select the View Holds button. All of the holds which include the client group are listed.
- On the row of the hold that you want to remove, select .
- Select Remove. A confirmation dialog displays.
- Select Yes.
A success message is displayed and the client group is no longer under that hold.
