Co-authoring documents in Microsoft Office applications
To send documents for co-authoring using keyboard shortcuts, do the following:
- Open a iManage Work document in Microsoft Office and press ALT and then press the shortcut key displayed in the application to navigate to the iManage tab. For example, press Y2 in Microsoft Word to access the iManage tab.
Alternatively, use the RIGHT/LEFT and UP/DOWN arrow keys or the TAB key to access the iManage tab. - Press the shortcut key displayed in the application to:
- Invite people for co-authoring. For example, press CA in Microsoft Word to invite people for co-authoring the document. The Share dialog box appears. Navigate through the various fields in the Share dialog box using the TAB key and make the necessary changes. Navigate to the Share button using the TAB key and once the button is highlighted, press ENTER. An email is sent to the editors informing them that a document is shared for co-authoring.
- Unlock the co-authored document. For example, press Y5 to unlock a document shared for co-authoring in Microsoft Word.
- Sync your changes to iManage Work. For example, press Y6 to sync your co-authored changes to iManage Work in Microsoft Word. A confirmation dialog box appears. Use the TAB key to select either OK or Cancel. When OK or Cancel is highlighted, press ENTER to either save or cancel the action.
- View the revision history of the co-authored document. For example, press CY in Microsoft Word to view the revision history of the co-authored document.
- Finish the co-authoring session. For example, press CT in Microsoft Word to finish the co-authoring session.
- View co-authored documents. For example, press CW in Microsoft Word to view co-authored documents. The Co-Authored Document dialog box appears. Use the TAB key and RIGHT/LEFT arrow keys to access the various options available in the Co-Authored Documents dialog box.
- Invite people for co-authoring. For example, press CA in Microsoft Word to invite people for co-authoring the document. The Share dialog box appears. Navigate through the various fields in the Share dialog box using the TAB key and make the necessary changes. Navigate to the Share button using the TAB key and once the button is highlighted, press ENTER. An email is sent to the editors informing them that a document is shared for co-authoring.
